Top 5 Moments From My First Week in Tokyo

I haven’t stopped smiling since I got here!

1. The Public Bath

After walking all day through Harajuku. A soak -in the hottest water you can find- is what you need. I was terrified to strip down in front of strangers but it’s actually very liberating and I have to go back.

2. The Shrines of Ueno Park

Going through the torii -the red gates that mark the entrance to shrines, you can feel the sacredness. The best way I can describe it is the feeling of getting to rest after a hard day. My soul felt lighter as we left.

3. The Owl Cafe

The owls were great but it was silly meerkat Karuto that was the star. She gave the best snuggles an animal lover could ever hope to have. I miss her dearly.

4. Class

Oddly enough, being in class made the list! We did come here to learn and even though it’s only been one week, I’ve learned so much about Japanese film. I haven’t been this excited about a class in so long.

5. Harajuku

Harajuku fashion street was everything I hoped for and more. I could have bought something from every store if I had the time. I will have to make several more trips back.
