After years of searching for a smaller, high quality Spain program, Athena
found CLIC. With small class sizes, and top-notch quality, partnering with CLIC was an easy choice.
Students also have an option to take both English and Spanish electives at the Universidad de Sevilla, but maintain a personalized home-base at CLIC for their language courses. The Universidad de Sevilla, founded in 1505, is one of the top-ranked universities in the country.
Founded in 1983, CLIC has become one of Spain’s top language schools.
At CLIC, learning doesn’t stop at the classroom; high quality social and cultural interactions are integral to getting the most out of your experience.
This is not just for Spanish majors! In addition to Spanish language courses, you can take electives in English or Spanish at the Universidad de Sevilla.
Courses have the following % breakdown:

This is an international school that has students from all over the world attending. The school enrollment fluctuates depending on the season, but the typical amount of U.S. students at any given time will have anywhere from 2-20 students on the program. This makes for an incredibly personal and high-quality study abroad experience, things we at Athena pride ourselves on.
Most beginner level classes will have 10 students in the class, while advanced classes typically have less.
Incredible! Traditional Spanish dishes, including meats, cheese and breads are readily available. Pizzas and paella are also easy to find.
Vegetarians: Athena’s resident vegetarian gives Seville a 6 out of 10 for being vegetarian friendly!
Yes! You can certainly request who you would like to have as your roommate. This is done after you are accepted into the program; you will note this in your housing request forms.
You will fly into Seville, Spain. You will be picked up at the airport and brought to your housing.
We have partnered with STA Travel, an incredible student-focused travel agency. The good people there will be able to help all Athena students arrange flights overseas.
”I had never visitsed Europe before & Sevilla made it my favorite continent. I met truly remarkable people. Sevillanos taught me to be happy from sunrise to sunset!”

You know a song whose verses are chill, but explode in the refrain? Seville is like that. It’s a city that has an incredible combination of that mellow Mediterranean vibe, with the trademark Spanish vitality. Seville has an inviting and even hypnotic energy that is focused on community, socializing and enjoying life. It doesn’t hurt that the weather and the culture are fantastic, too. The city has everything you’d want in a study abroad destination, without being overwhelming.
If you’re a night-owl, you’ll love Seville (and Spain in general); 9 PM dinners are considered early … Incredible weather plus walkable streets mean that even commutes are enjoyable.
