Work with a local firm on a variety of tasks including computer work (Photoshop, AutoCAD, Indesign), project managing, onsite tasks, interior/furniture design, refurbishment tasks, creation of logos and any other related tasks for the projects in place at the time of the internship.

Create multi-media projects to highlight and promote the business. Implement a marketing plan to strengthen old and creating new local partnerships. Proposing, organizing, and promoting student events to encourage integration within the local community. Facilitating Free English Conversation program between students and local Italians. Seeking volunteer opportunities in Sorrento, proposing new events and activities, and recruiting students for participation. Managing the Italian Language Week (free Italian lessons) promotion, including organizing student volunteers for flyer distribution, facilitating the organization of Italian professors available to teach the lessons, preparing material for lessons, and bringing in visitors to participate.

Observing and assist staff in both the kitchen and dining room with any activities that they deem to be important toward the smooth running of the operation. Assisting teachers with lesson plans and materials for lessons. Researching new materials and proposing new activities and methods according to the student’s/class’s needs and objectives. Working with both individual and group classes for teaching English or Italian as a second language. Helping coordinate educational service projects, such as free conversation classes for low-income locals and projects with the local parish youth group.

Preparing gym for special events and programs as well as maintaining a clean and safe environment. Attending to clients and introducing them to the facilities. Preparing a marketing plan to improve business visibility, maximize the quality of service, and increase number of clients. ***Students with an intermediate to advanced level of the Italian language are also applicable for internship positions listed in the other academic fields depending on their interests and experience. Additional positions in other academic fields (e.g. Translation, Real Estate, Finance, Psychology, Supply Chain Management, etc.) may also be available upon request for students with an advanced knowledge of Italian.

Option 1:
Researching the Mediterranean diet. Observing client visits and assisting licensed nutritionist in preparing diets and suggestions for clients. Helping develop marketing plan to increase visibility and increase clientele as well as promote awareness of health and nutrition in general. Under the supervision of professional nutritionist, assisting with health code checks and collaborating with local pediatricians on dietary plans for schools.

Option 2:
Assisting in the process of the “kilometer zero” nutrition system: growing and producing food on the same site as it is prepared and served. Attending to the healthy growth and cultivation of plants and learning about the food preparation as well as production olive oil, limoncello, marmalades, etc. Promoting awareness of kilometre zero nutritional benefits.

Working under the supervision of professionals to assist customers at the pharmacy. Helping with research and back office tasks deemed necessary for the business.

Teaming up with local charity groups and volunteer organizations to work with disadvantaged people in the community, such as disabled youth and the eldery. Preparing projects and activities, such as pizza parties, arts and crafts, mini theatre productions, walks around town, gardening, etc. in order to entertain as well as socialize these groups with other locals and Sant’Anna student peers.
