While majoring at the University of Pittsburgh, Christine received a Bachelor of Arts degree and Certificate in Latin American Studies. During her time at Pitt, she studied abroad in Mexico for a semester at Universidad de las Americas in the city of Puebla. After graduation, she did some graduate work in social anthropology at the University of Oklahoma where she also worked as a Graduate Assistant on a research project studying oral histories and perceptions of medicine and illness with the Freeman population. Aside from working at Athena, Chris has worked for two separate research projects, Pathways to Desistance with adolescent offenders and psychopathy in adolescent men and adult males, with the Department of Law & Psychiatry at UPMC. Other work history includes working in cultural resource management and working in the insurance industry.
