A state-of-the-art 350-seat restaurant formed part of recent college developments. The new facility incorporates a Food Court, named 'Real Food Connection', a full bar and a specialist Barista offering coffee and beverage vending. The restaurant also features a "Wok Station" where fresh ingredients will be chosen and cooked theatre style in front of you!
Meal cards may be purchased, or students can pay per item.
The new design was commissioned to provide an environment that accommodates the requirements of daytime food & beverages but with a trendy nightlife 'look & feel'!
The Student Union common room has pool tables, a jukebox, table-tennis tables and a foosball table. For in-depth information, read the "Student Union Facilities" section.
The college shop sells a range of snacks and cold and hot drinks. The shop also provides photocopying/printing cards for college machines, stationery supplies and daily newspapers at student rates.
The college has a fitness room that is available to all students in the college. The room contains various cardiovascular machines, most notably elliptical cross trainers, exercise bikes and treadmills. The room also has weight machines.
Adjacent to the fitness room, there are male and female changing rooms which are equipped with hot showers and secure lockers for gym gear.
Not all students wish to buy food from the college restaurant. As such, the Students Union (SU) building has a dedicated kitchen area for students who wish to bring in their own food from outside of college.
The area is equipped with microwaves, a boiling water dispenser, a sink, tables, chairs and TV. The kitchen is located on the ground floor of the SU.
The top floor of the SU is dedicated completely to pool tables. It houses six standard tables. It is extremely cheap to play pool in the SU. You simply rent out a set of balls and cues from the Sports Officer for a nominal fee and you can play as many games as you like for as long as you wish.
The Student common room is one of the more popular areas in Griffith College for students who are just looking to sit back and relax with their laptop (the SU is Wi-Fi equipped) or to watch some digital TV on one of the common room's two big screen TVs. Students can also make use of an Xbox360 in the common room should they want to relax with a video game.
